New 2024 Honda Odyssey Redesign, Colors, Interior – We tend to overlook that minivan sales have also been affected by the advent of crossovers and SUVs in the United States. For a long time, the Dodge Grand Caravan dominated the minivan market. However, it has since deteriorated into a pale replica of its former glory, allowing the 2024 Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Pacifica to seize the opportunity. However, are these minivans still in use today? A car that understands what it’s doing and doesn’t try to be something it isn’t is what we want in a vehicle, like the Odyssey.

There have been several modifications implemented by Honda to stay ahead of the competition. The company recently provided significant upgrades to the minivan. It began in July 2020 with the 2021 model year and was followed by the 2022 model year’s launch in January 2022. However, the 3.5-liter V6 beneath the hood still produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, but a few alterations have been made to the spec sheet to reflect these improvements.

The Dodge Grand Caravan, in our opinion, became obsolete because its manufacturer merely quit up. In the end, there’s a limit to what you can achieve with a box. However, Honda disproves this belief with the Odyssey, which is at the very least an eye-catching automobile. Upgrades for 2021 featured revised grille and front bumper styling and new headlights with a redesigned arrangement and black trim under the rear window.

The new blackout grille and chrome strip provide the front end a little more aggressive look, while the side profile is aesthetically pleasing.. Standard wheels are 18 inches in diameter, but the larger 19-inch alloys on the top-of-the-line versions are a welcome touch. All models come standard with LED headlights, daytime running lights, and fog lights, with LED fog lights being added to the EX model and up. A power sunroof and power tailgate are standard on the EX and EX-L trims, respectively, while power sliding doors are included on the EX.

Interior

Even if the cabin of the 2024 Honda Odyssey is gorgeous, there is no genuine feeling of occasion. Ambient lighting surrounding the center console adds a pleasant touch to the digital instrument cluster. Space and robustness, on the other hand, are the key concerns of Honda. There is a sense of permanence, regardless of whether the model is made of fabric or leather. Good-quality polymers are used throughout the cabin, and the car is well-assembled. The likelihood of rattling in a car with that many seats is substantial. Because we couldn’t hear any rattling, it’s clear that Honda is a company with excellent standards.

Engine

This is the first blemish on the Odyssey’s armor. In terms of horsepower and torque, though, Honda’s 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine is an absolute peach, putting out 280 horses and 262 lb-ft. Expect nothing less from a company that’s built some of the greatest non-turbo engines in the industry, which is why this minivan never seems underpowered.

Even with eight occupants in the car, it offers enough room for both city and highway travel. The ten-speed automatic transmission is also perfect. Because of its wide range of ratios, the transmission can make the most of the engine no matter what the situation calls for. Higher speeds allow it to stabilize and be a little more efficient. The absence of a hybrid powertrain is one of our pet peeves. There are now hybrid choices available in both the Pacifica and Sienna.

The base LX model of the 2021 Odyssey starts at around $32,000 and rises through the EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite trims, which all cost in the neighborhood of $50,000. Adaptive cruise control and automated emergency braking with pedestrian recognition are now standard across the whole lineup, but the LX still only has a 5.0-inch display.
